Stella Huyshe-Shires talks about living with Lyme. The programme also included a live interview on Dartmoor (at 6.30 am!) with Dr Marina Morgan, a consultant medical microbiologist from the local hospital, and Dr Richard Harrison from Tick Alert. Dr Morgan described the initial symptoms and said how vital it is to obtain early diagnosis and treatment.
The importance of removing ticks properly was emphasised by Dr Harrison and later screenings of the article (which was broadcast 3 times during the show) corrected viewers who had phoned in with dangerous suggestions of applying vaseline, lemon juice etc. to an attached tick.
