The Health Protection Agency has recently issued provisional figures for the numbers of Lyme cases recorded in England and Wales for the year 2007. The figures are 797 confirmed cases in England and Wales. This compares with a final total of 768 cases in 2006 and 595 in 2005. The figures issued on 19th June 2008 may well be revised by the time the final total is known, so please note these are only provisional figures. The full story can be read here:
