LDA has been working with the Royal College of General Practitioners to produce an on-line training module on Lyme disease. This is launched today – funded by LDA through donations. It is available free to all GPs and other health professionals, whether or not they are members of RCGP.
The course is evidence-based, but acknowledges the uncertainties present in every aspect of Lyme disease. Topics covered include ticks and tick removal, epidemiology, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, with example case studies.
This is intended to be a brief overview of the facts, and not an in-depth course, but it is a big step forward in making good basic information easily available to GPs.
