PHE Lyme disease conference announced

The Public Health England Lyme disease conference programme has been announced and registration has opened. The conference is free to attend, but places are limited (to about 100) so early booking is advisable.

Date: Oct 9th 2013, 10.00 – 16.00

Venue: Coin Street Conference Centre, London (near Waterloo)

The aim of the day is to bring everyone up to date with the recent advances in PHE thinking and plans, and to provide an opportunity for discussion. LDA will be presenting ideas on what could be done in the short term, and what the long term aims are. This is an open event, and anyone is free to attend as long as they have registered first. It is hoped that a broad spectrum of clinicians, patients and researchers will be present.

PHE and LDA discussed the possibility of recording this event, but decided it might stifle live comments. LDA will publish a summary of proceedings after the event and PHE will be making pdfs of all presentations available.

Journalists from the national and specialist health press have been invited, so it is hoped that this open conference will have coverage. During and prior to the conference the @PHE_uk Twitter channel will be tweeting updates about speakers and announcements.

Note that PHE intend this to be the first of several events, so there will be other opportunities.

See the PHE press release for further details.
