NorthTick project newsletter

The following is the first newsletter from the NorthTick project, sent to the supporting patient organisations, of which LDA is one.

NorthTick Newsletter

First and foremost a big thanks to all the organizations that have supported the NorthTick project by signing the Letter of Support.

NorthTick is a project co-funded by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund and the North Sea Region Programme 2014 – 2020.

Eleven partners from seven different countries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Belgium, United Kingdom and the Netherlands) are involved in the Project.

In October 2019 we had a kick-off meeting in Gothenburg, Sweden. It was positive that so many were able to participate and contribute to the start of our exciting project.

Obviously, the project is still in the start-up phase, but at Hjortviken we felt confident that through our joint efforts we will be able to carry out the project with positive results.

The work within the various work packages has got off to a good start with good cooperation between the beneficiaries. The next meeting for the project partners will be in Fevik (Norway), May 4-5.

By supporting the project your organization will be invited to public meetings and will be given insight into the project through newsletters and our website www.northtick.com.

The website is still under construction, but here you will find more information about the project, partners, upcoming events and news.

We also want to include you in some of the activities and the dissemination of project results. In one of the activities in work package 5, for example, we are going to compare recommendation/guidelines for the management of tick-borne diseases in the North Sea Region.

We are planning a workshop for this activity and hope that a representative from your organization will be able to participate. We will send out more information about this in upcoming newsletters.

We would also like to inform you about the NordTick conference that will be held in Norway in May 5-7, 2020. NordTick is the largest conference on tick and tick-borne diseases in the Nordic countries. The conference is held every other year and is a conference for biologists, veterinarians, clinicians and other researchers in the field. The conference is also open to other interested parties.  For more information about NordTick: https://xn--flttsenteret-ucb.no/2019/09/nordtick-2020/

In the meanwhile, if you have any questions about the NorthTick project, please don’t hesitate to contact NorthTick!

Yours sincerely,
